So, I figured I would like to try out the Sims 1 with all the expansion packs, and I love the game already!

I decided to order a used game instead of the new one for a cheaper cost and I bought it with Summer-West. Normally, I would buy a new product to avoid getting any problems but luckily, all the discs came, the package was in a very good condition and there were barely to no visible scratches on the discs. It came with the manual with the code and the installation worked. Also, to note, my laptop currently uses the Windows 10 version. Once the game finished installing, I proceeded to try to play it.

However, nothing happened. I kept trying to run the game as administrator and all, but it still didn’t work. I figured it couldn’t be a problem with the discs because it was barely scratched or anything, so I looked up online to search for a solution. It turns out that for users with a Windows 10 operating system, you need to have a patched download of the Sims. I was able to find a forum that included the link and I downloaded the patched version antivirus ran and there was no sign of viruses or malware with the download.

I replaced the patched version with the original application Sims. It worked! I was beyond ecstatic because for a moment I thought that I was going to have to return the game. So, for those who get the discs and it installed correctly and it didn’t work, I would try to see if you need the patched version.

Don’t download, it’s a custom shitty and extremely slow installer with missing stuff. It’s not the real complete collection.
